Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Power off your Motorola Moto Edge 2022 and remove the SIM card tray using a SIM eject tool. This will prevent any damage to the SIM card during the repair.
Heat and Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Once heated, use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover. Work slowly to avoid cracking the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent electrical discharge.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat along the edges of the screen to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool. Carefully slide the tool around the edges to separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious of cables that may still be attached.
Install the New Screen
Place adhesive strips or apply a thin layer of glue around the frame where the new screen will sit. Align the new screen carefully, ensuring no cables are pinched. Press it into place firmly to secure the adhesive.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard using the spudger. Replace the battery connector cover and secure it with screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the frame and press it down firmly to adhere to the adhesive. If necessary, apply heat to ensure a strong bond.
Test the New Screen
Power on your device to test the new screen. Ensure touch functionality and display clarity are as expected. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
