Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Turn off your Moto Edge 2023 completely. Once powered down, use a SIM eject tool or paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the device.
Heat Back Cover
Using a heat gun or hairdryer, gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Move the heat source continuously to avoid overheating any area.
Remove Back Cover
Carefully insert a plastic opening tool between the back cover and the phone frame. Gently pry around the edges to loosen the adhesive, using a suction cup for additional leverage if needed. Avoid using metal tools to prevent scratches.
Disconnect Battery
Once the back cover is removed, unscrew and remove the protective plate over the battery connector using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Disconnect the battery connector using a plastic spudger to ensure the phone is completely powered off.
Remove Old Screen
Heat the front screen edges using the heat gun or hairdryer to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious of ribbon cables connected to the screen.
Install New Screen
Remove any adhesive residue from the frame using a microfiber cloth. Carefully align the new screen with the frame, ensuring all ribbon cables are properly connected. Press gently to secure the new screen in place.
Reconnect Battery and Secure Back Cover
Reconnect the battery connector and replace the protective plate, securing it with screws. Carefully align and press the back cover into place, applying pressure around the edges to secure the adhesive.
Test New Screen
Power on your device and verify that the new screen functions correctly. Test touch sensitivity, display clarity, and check for any issues with the display or connections.
