Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure the Moto Edge 2025 is completely powered off. Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power off' from the on-screen menu. Wait until the device is fully shut down.
Remove SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM card ejector tool or a paper clip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. This will prevent damage to the SIM card and tray during the repair.
Heat the Screen Edges
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently warm the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Apply heat evenly for about 1-2 minutes, avoiding direct and prolonged heat to any one area.
Detach the Screen Assembly
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to pry between the screen and the frame. Work your way around the device to release the adhesive. Take care not to insert the tool too deeply.
Disconnect Screen Cables
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it from the device. Use a spudger to disconnect the ribbon cables connecting the screen to the motherboard. Handle the cables gently to avoid damage.
Remove the Old Screen
After disconnecting all cables, completely remove the old screen from the device. Set it aside safely, as it may have sharp edges if cracked.
Install New Screen
Align the new screen with the device. Carefully connect the ribbon cables to the motherboard connectors. Ensure each connection is secure and properly aligned.
Secure the New Screen
Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the new screen. Gently press the screen into place, ensuring it is aligned correctly with the phone's frame. Apply even pressure around the edges to secure the adhesive.
Reinsert SIM Card Tray
Reinsert the SIM card tray into the phone. Ensure it is seated properly.
Power On and Test
Power on the device to test the new screen. Check for responsiveness and ensure the display is functioning correctly. If everything is in order, your screen replacement is complete.
