Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' from the options that appear on the screen. Wait for the device to fully power down before proceeding.
Remove SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or a small paperclip to insert into the hole next to the SIM card tray. Gently push until the tray pops out, then remove it from the device.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry open the back cover. Start from the edge and work your way around to detach it from the adhesive. Take your time to avoid damaging the cover.
Unscrew and Remove Midframe
Use a T3 Torx screwdriver to remove all screws securing the midframe. Once removed, gently lift the midframe using a plastic spudger.
Disconnect the Battery Connector
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard and use a plastic spudger to carefully disconnect it. Be gentle to avoid damaging the connector or surrounding components.
Remove the Old Battery
Gently lift the battery using the plastic spudger. If necessary, use a bit of heat to soften any remaining adhesive. Be careful not to puncture the battery.
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery in the compartment. If the new battery does not have adhesive strips, apply them before installation. Connect the battery connector back to the motherboard.
Reassemble the Device
Align the midframe and secure it with the screws you removed earlier. Snap the back cover into place, ensuring all edges are properly sealed.
Power On the Device
Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device to ensure the battery replacement was successful.
