Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card Tray
Start by powering off your Moto Edge 30 Ultra completely. Once the device is off, use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Set the tray aside safely.
Heat and Remove Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Carefully insert a plastic opening tool or a pry tool between the back cover and the frame, and gently work your way around the edges to release the clips and adhesive. Lift the back cover slowly and set it aside.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully lift the cover using a plastic tool, then disconnect the battery connector using a plastic spudger. This step ensures the phone is completely powered off and safe to work on.
Remove the Display Assembly
Remove the screws securing the display connector cover using a Torx T3 screwdriver. Carefully lift the cover and disconnect the display connector. Use a heat gun to apply heat around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup and plastic opening tool to gently lift and separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious not to damage the ribbon cables.
Prepare the Frame for New Screen
Clean the frame thoroughly with a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol to remove any remaining adhesive and ensure a clear surface for the new screen. Check for any debris or damage, and ensure that the frame is ready for the new adhesive.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the display connector. Secure the connector with the cover and screws using the Torx T3 screwdriver. Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the frame, then carefully place the new screen onto the frame, pressing down firmly to ensure a proper seal.
Reconnect the Battery and Reassemble
Reconnect the battery connector, then replace the battery connector cover and secure it with screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Carefully align and press the back cover into place, ensuring the clips and adhesive are properly secured.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Check for touch responsiveness, display quality, and any potential issues. Reinsert the SIM card tray once confirmed.
