Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Begin by powering off your Motorola Moto Edge 30. Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This prevents any potential damage to the SIM card during the repair.
Heat and Remove Back Cover
Using a heat gun or hairdryer, gently apply heat around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the back cover slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully pry it off. Work your way around the edges to fully detach the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard and use a spudger to gently disconnect it. This step is crucial to ensure there's no power running through the device during the repair.
Remove the Old Display
Use the heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat to the front edges of the display. Insert the plastic opening tool between the display and the frame to loosen the adhesive. Carefully lift the display while avoiding damage to the underlying components. Disconnect the display cable using tweezers.
Install the New Display
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the display cable. Gently press the edges to secure the screen in place. Ensure all connections are secure before proceeding.
Reattach Back Cover
Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the back cover. Press the cover firmly against the device to ensure it sticks properly. Use the heat gun if necessary to help set the adhesive.
Reinsert SIM Card and Power On
Reinsert the SIM card tray into the device. Power on your Motorola Moto Edge 30 and test the new screen to ensure that it is functioning correctly.
