Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure your Motorola Moto Edge 40 Neo is turned off completely before beginning the repair. Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' from the options.
Remove the Back Cover
Using a heat gun or hairdryer, gently apply heat around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Once heated, use a suction cup to lift the back cover slightly. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the perimeter to release the adhesive. Lift off the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and remove the screws securing the connector shield using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery from the motherboard to ensure no power is running through the device while you work.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the front screen to soften the adhesive. Use the suction cup to gently lift the screen, then insert a plastic opening tool to carefully pry it away from the frame. Be mindful of the display cable and connectors. Gently disconnect the display cable using tweezers.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the frame and connect the display cable. Ensure it is securely connected. Remove any protective film from the new screen.
Secure the New Screen
Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the frame. Press the new screen firmly into place, ensuring it is properly seated and flush with the device frame.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector and secure the connector shield with screws. Place the back cover onto the device, applying pressure to reattach it with the adhesive. Use a heat gun to slightly warm the edges for a better seal if necessary.
