Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before starting, ensure the phone is completely powered off. Press and hold the power button and select 'Power Off'. Wait until the device is fully shut down.
Remove SIM Card Tray
Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. This will prevent any damage to the tray or SIM card during the repair.
Heat the Screen Edges
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This helps to soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Apply heat evenly for about 2-3 minutes, moving in a circular motion.
Separate the Screen
Attach the suction cup to the lower portion of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to carefully pry around the edges of the screen. Work your way around the device slowly to avoid cracking the screen further.
Disconnect the Display Connector
Once the screen is lifted, use a spudger to disconnect the display connector. This is located at the top of the phone's internals. Be gentle to avoid damaging the connector or other components.
Remove the Old Screen
After disconnecting the display connector, gently remove the old screen from the phone. Check for any remaining adhesive and clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol to ensure a smooth installation of the new screen.
Install the New Screen
Place the new screen in position and connect the display connector. Ensure it is securely attached. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure the new screen to the phone's frame.
Reassemble the Phone
Carefully press the new screen into place. Ensure that it is aligned properly with the phone's frame. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
Power On and Test
Power on the device to test the new screen. Check for touch responsiveness and display quality to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
