Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your Motorola Moto Edge 50 Ultra until the power off option appears. Confirm the action to completely turn off the device. This step is crucial to ensure safety during the repair process.
Remove SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM card ejector tool into the small hole on the SIM card tray, located on the side of the device. Gently press to eject the tray, then completely remove it from the phone.
Heat the Edges
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the phone. Move the heat source in a circular motion for about 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive securing the back cover.
Remove the Back Cover
Place a suction cup near the edge of the back cover and lift gently to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap, then slide it around the perimeter to release the adhesive. Carefully remove the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a spudger, carefully disconnect the battery connector to prevent any power from reaching the device's components during the repair. This step is crucial for safety.
Remove the Old Screen
Locate the screws securing the screen connector bracket and remove them using a Torx T3 screwdriver. Carefully disconnect the screen cable using tweezers. Heat the front of the device to soften the adhesive, then use a suction cup and plastic opening tools to gently remove the old screen.
Install the New Screen
Carefully position the new screen on the device. Connect the screen cable and secure the connector bracket with screws. Ensure the screen is properly aligned before proceeding to the next step.
Reconnect the Battery
Once the new screen is in place, use the spudger to reconnect the battery connector. This will restore power to the device, allowing you to test the new screen.
Reattach the Back Cover
Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the back cover or use double-sided adhesive tape. Carefully align and press the back cover onto the device, ensuring it is securely in place.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly. Check for responsiveness and proper display of images.
