Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Begin by powering off your Motorola Moto Edge 5G 2021 completely. Hold the power button and select 'Power Off' to ensure the device is safely turned off before proceeding.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use the SIM card eject tool or a paperclip to eject the SIM card tray from the side of the device. This will prevent damage to the SIM card during the repair process.
Heat the Edges of the Phone
Using a heat gun or hair dryer, gently apply heat to the edges of the phone to soften the adhesive securing the back cover. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Remove the Back Cover
Apply a suction cup to the back cover near the edge. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to carefully pry open the back cover. Work your way around the edges until the cover is completely detached.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to carefully disconnect it. This step is crucial to prevent any electrical shorts during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Remove the screws securing the screen using a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Gently heat the edges of the screen and use the plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Disconnect the display connector and remove the old screen.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's display connector to the motherboard. Align the new screen with the frame and press it into place. Secure it with the screws.
Reattach the Back Cover
Before reattaching the back cover, reconnect the battery. Apply new adhesive strips or screen adhesive around the edges, then press the back cover firmly into place until it is secure.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
Insert the SIM card tray back into its slot. Ensure it is seated correctly and securely.
Power On and Test
Power on your device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly. Test the touch functionality and display quality to confirm the repair was successful.
