Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Prepare the Device
Ensure your phone is powered off completely. Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM tray from the device. This prevents damage to the SIM card and tray during the repair process.
Heat and Remove the Back Cover
Using a heat gun or hairdryer, gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the back cover slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to pry it away from the chassis. Work slowly around the edges to avoid damaging the back cover or internal components.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the back cover is removed, locate the battery connector. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery to prevent any power from reaching the device during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Heat the edges of the front screen using the heat gun or hairdryer. Place the suction cup on the screen and gently lift to create a gap. Use a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame. Be mindful of the display cables and remove them using tweezers.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the frame. Connect the display cables securely. Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the frame, then gently press the new screen into place, ensuring a snug fit without any gaps.
Reattach the Back Cover
Reconnect the battery connector. Align and press the back cover onto the device, ensuring all edges are properly adhered. Reheat the edges if necessary to ensure a secure fit.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Ensure touch sensitivity and display quality are as expected. Reinsert the SIM tray.
