Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Prepare the Device
Turn off your Moto Edge S50 completely. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray. This prevents any accidental data loss and interference with the repair process.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Apply a suction cup to the back cover and gently pull while using a plastic opening tool to carefully pry around the edges until the cover releases. Take your time to avoid cracking the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Torx T5 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully lift the cover with tweezers. Use a plastic spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Battery
Locate the pull tab on the battery. Gently pull the tab to lift and remove the battery from the device. If the battery is difficult to remove, apply a small amount of heat to soften the adhesive, and use the plastic spudger to help release it.
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery into the battery compartment. Ensure it is properly aligned. Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Secure it with the connector cover and screws previously removed.
Reattach the Back Cover
Before reattaching, ensure all connections are secure and there are no loose components. Align the back cover with the device. Press firmly around the edges to secure it in place. If necessary, apply slight heat to reactivate the adhesive for a stronger bond.
Power On and Test
Reinsert the SIM card tray. Power on your device to ensure that it boots up and that the new battery is functioning correctly. Check for any irregularities and confirm the device charges properly.
