Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Begin by powering off your Motorola Moto Edge S50. Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' from the options displayed. Wait until the phone completely shuts down before proceeding.
Remove SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM eject tool or a paperclip into the small hole on the SIM card tray. Apply a gentle pressure to eject the tray, then remove it completely from the device.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Move the heat source evenly around the edges for about 1-2 minutes.
Detach the Screen
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently pull to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slide it around the perimeter to separate the screen from the device. Be careful not to damage the internal components.
Disconnect the Screen Connector
Once the screen is detached, use a spudger to carefully disconnect the display cable from the motherboard. This cable is located near the top of the device and should be handled gently to avoid damage.
Remove the Old Screen
Lift the old screen away from the device completely. Ensure that no adhesive or broken glass remains on the phone frame. Clean the area thoroughly using tweezers and a microfiber cloth if necessary.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device and connect the display cable to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure before proceeding.
Secure the Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the frame of the device. Carefully position the new screen onto the phone, pressing gently around the edges to ensure it adheres properly.
Reinsert SIM Card Tray
Insert the SIM card tray back into its slot until it clicks into place. Ensure it is properly seated to avoid future connectivity issues.
Power On and Test
Power on the device by holding the power button until the Motorola logo appears. Test the new screen for responsiveness and display quality. Ensure all functions are working correctly.
