Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Tray
Turn off your Motorola Moto G 5G Plus completely. Use the SIM card ejector tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This prevents any damage to the SIM card and ensures a complete shut down.
Apply Heat to Soften Adhesive
Using a heat gun or hair dryer, apply gentle heat around the edges of the phone's back cover to soften the adhesive. Move the heat source in circular motions to avoid overheating any one spot. This will make the next step easier.
Remove the Back Cover
Using a suction cup, gently lift the back cover while inserting a plastic opening tool between the cover and the frame. Carefully work your way around the edges to pry open the back cover. Once loosened, remove it completely.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to carefully disconnect it. This step is crucial to ensure no power is flowing through the device as you perform the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Detach any connectors securing the screen to the motherboard using tweezers. Apply additional heat if necessary to soften the adhesive holding the screen. Use the plastic opening tool to gently lift and remove the screen.
Install the New Screen
Clean the frame using a microfiber cloth to remove any adhesive residue. Align the new screen and connect the necessary cables back to the motherboard. Secure the screen using double-sided adhesive tape or pre-cut adhesive strips.
Reconnect the Battery and Reassemble
Reconnect the battery connector using the spudger. Place the back cover back onto the device, ensuring it clicks into place. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
Power On and Test
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Ensure the touch is responsive and display is clear. Verify that all features are working correctly.
