Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button on your Motorola Moto G Fast until the power menu appears. Tap 'Power Off' to completely shut down the device before proceeding.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges of the back cover. Carefully lift it off to reveal the interior of the phone.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector. Using a spudger, gently pry up the connector to disconnect the battery from the logic board. This step ensures no power is flowing through the device during the repair.
Remove the Front Panel
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to warm the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive. Carefully use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, then insert a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Work your way around the device until the screen is free.
Disconnect the Old Screen
Once the screen is lifted, locate the display connector and use a spudger to carefully disconnect it. Remove any adhesive residue from the frame to prepare for the new screen installation.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen to the display connector and align it carefully with the frame. Ensure the connectors are secure and there are no gaps between the screen and frame.
Secure the New Screen
Use adhesive strips or double-sided adhesive tape to secure the new screen into place. Apply even pressure around the edges to ensure a strong bond.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the logic board using a spudger. Ensure it is firmly in place to restore power to the device.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the phone frame and press it into place. Ensure it clicks into position securely around all edges.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device to test the new screen. Check for display clarity and touch responsiveness to confirm the screen is functioning correctly.
