Power Off the Device
Hold down the power button on your Moto G Power 5G and select 'Power Off' to ensure the device is completely turned off before proceeding.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM card eject tool or a paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray and gently press to eject the tray. Remove the tray and set it aside.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply gentle heat around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Be careful not to overheat and damage any components.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a suction cup to lift the edge of the back cover. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully pry around the edge to release the adhesive. Set the back cover aside once removed.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the screws securing the battery connector shield using a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to avoid any power flow.
Remove the Old Screen
Gently heat the front of the screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame. Disconnect the display connector and remove the screen.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's display connector to the motherboard. Carefully align the new screen with the frame and press it into place, ensuring it is securely attached.
Reconnect the Battery and Reassemble
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Replace the battery connector shield and secure it with screws. Reattach the back cover using new adhesive if necessary, and press firmly around the edges to ensure a tight seal.
Test the New Screen
Power on your device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly. Test touch responsiveness and display clarity before finalizing the repair.
