Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Turn off your Motorola Moto G completely to prevent any electrical issues. Use the SIM card eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray and set it aside.
Open the Back Cover
Using a plastic opening tool, carefully pry open the back cover of the phone. Start from the bottom corner and work your way around to avoid breaking the clips.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery to avoid any power running through the device during repair.
Remove the Display Assembly
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to apply heat around the edges of the display to soften the adhesive. Carefully insert a thin metal prying tool between the screen and the frame and gently pry the screen away. Be patient and avoid using excessive force.
Detach the Display Cable
Once the display is loose, carefully lift it up to access the display cable. Use tweezers to gently disconnect the display cable from the motherboard.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the phone’s frame. Connect the display cable to the motherboard. Carefully press the screen into place, ensuring it aligns correctly with the frame.
Secure the New Screen
Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure the new screen to the frame. Apply even pressure around the edges to ensure a firm bond.
Reassemble the Phone
Reconnect the battery and replace the back cover by pressing it firmly into place. Reinsert the SIM card and power on your phone to test the new screen.
