Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before beginning any repairs, ensure your Motorola Moto G05 is completely powered off to prevent any electrical hazards or damage to components.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry off the back cover of the phone. Start at a corner and work your way around the edges. Be careful not to crack the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any electrical discharge during the repair.
Heat the Screen
Use a hairdryer or heat gun to evenly heat the edges of the screen for about 1-2 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the screen, making it easier to remove.
Remove the Damaged Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen and pull gently upwards while using a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the chassis. Work your way around the edges until the screen is free. Be cautious of the flex cables connecting the screen to the motherboard.
Disconnect the Screen Cables
Carefully disconnect the flex cables attaching the screen to the motherboard using a spudger or tweezers. Note the position and orientation of the cables for reassembly.
Attach the New Screen
Connect the new screen's flex cables to the motherboard, ensuring they are securely attached. Test the screen by briefly powering on the device to check for display and touch functionality.
Secure the New Screen
Apply double-sided adhesive tape or pre-cut adhesive to the edges of the new screen. Carefully align the screen with the phone chassis and press down firmly to secure it in place.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery and screw the battery connector shield back into place. Replace the back cover by snapping it back onto the phone.
Final Check
Power on the device to ensure that the new screen is functioning correctly. Check for proper touch responsiveness and display quality. Clean the screen with a microfiber cloth to remove any fingerprints or smudges.
