Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Workspace
Find a clean, well-lit, and static-free workspace to perform the repair. Gather all tools and materials before starting. Ensure your phone is powered off to prevent any electrical hazards.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool or a suction cup to gently pry off the back cover of the Moto G10. Start from one corner and carefully work your way around the edges to release the clips holding the cover in place.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a nylon spudger to gently disconnect it. This is crucial to prevent any accidental short circuits during the repair.
Remove the Midframe
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws around the midframe. Carefully lift the midframe using a plastic opening tool, taking care not to damage any cables.
Heat and Remove the Broken Screen
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive. Apply heat evenly for about 1-2 minutes. Use a suction cup and plastic playing cards or opening picks to gently separate the screen from the frame, starting at the top and working your way down. Be cautious of any cables attached to the screen.
Install the New Screen
Carefully connect the new screen to the main board. Align it properly with the frame. Once aligned, press down gently to secure it in place. Use adhesive strips or screen adhesive to ensure it is firmly attached.
Reassemble the Device
Reattach the midframe by aligning it with the screw holes and securing it with the screws removed earlier. Reconnect the battery connector to the main board.
Replace the Back Cover
Snap the back cover into place by pressing it firmly around the edges until you hear it click. Ensure it is securely attached.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Check for touch responsiveness, display clarity, and any other issues.
