Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on the side of your Moto G14 until the power menu appears. Tap 'Power Off' to ensure the device is completely turned off before proceeding with the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry around the edges of the back cover. Start at one corner and gently work your way around until the cover pops off. Be patient to avoid breaking any plastic clips.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to gently lift and disconnect the battery connector to prevent any electrical shorts during the repair.
Remove the Display Assembly
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the screen for about 1-2 minutes to loosen the adhesive. Attach a suction cup to the screen and gently pull while using a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the device. Proceed slowly to avoid damaging internal components.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Once the screen is partially lifted, carefully disconnect the display cable that connects the screen to the motherboard using tweezers. This will free the old screen from the device.
Prepare the New Screen
Remove any protective films from the new display. Apply 2mm double-sided adhesive tape around the edges of the new screen, ensuring it aligns with the device frame for a secure fit.
Connect the New Display
Carefully connect the display cable of the new screen to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure and properly seated.
Install the New Display
Align the new screen with the frame of the device and press down gently to adhere it to the adhesive. Ensure it is flush with the edges of the phone.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard using a spudger. Ensure the connection is secure.
Reassemble the Device
Reattach the back cover by pressing down around the edges until it clicks into place. Power on the device to test the new screen's functionality.
