Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power options appear. Select 'Power Off' and wait for the device to completely shut down.
Remove the Back Cover
Using a plastic opening tool, gently pry open the back cover of the phone. Start from the corner and work your way around the edges until the cover is completely detached.
Detach the Battery Connector
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to carefully disconnect it from the motherboard. This will ensure no power runs through the device during the repair.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Do not overheat to avoid damage to the internal components.
Remove the Screen
Place a suction cup on the screen and gently pull to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work around the edges to detach the screen. Be mindful of any cables connected to the screen.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Once the screen is loosened, carefully lift it to access the display cables. Use tweezers to disconnect the cables from the motherboard.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's cables to the motherboard. Once connected, gently press the screen into place, ensuring it is properly aligned with the device's frame.
Secure the Screen with Adhesive
Apply adhesive strips or glue around the edges of the new screen to secure it in place. Ensure the adhesive is evenly distributed to prevent any gaps or loose areas.
Reconnect the Battery and Test the Screen
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Power on the device to test the functionality of the new screen. Ensure the touch and display are working properly.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the phone and press down firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure all edges are securely fitted.
