Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Begin by powering off your Motorola Moto G31 completely. Once the device is off, use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card and tray from the device.
Remove Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges of the back cover to detach it from the phone. Work slowly to avoid cracking the plastic.
Disconnect Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully lift the cover with a spudger and disconnect the battery connector to ensure the device is safe to work on.
Remove Front Display Assembly
Apply gentle heat using a heat gun or hairdryer around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious not to damage any cables.
Disconnect Display Cables
Once the screen is lifted, identify the display cables connected to the motherboard. Use tweezers to carefully disconnect these cables from their connectors.
Install New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the device frame and connect the display cables to the motherboard. Ensure all connections are secure.
Secure Screen and Reassemble
Apply double-sided adhesive tape around the frame if necessary, and press the new screen firmly into place. Reattach the battery connector and secure with its cover. Replace the back cover and ensure it clicks into place around all edges.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality, including touch responsiveness and display quality. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
