Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on the side of the Moto G4 Plus until the power menu appears. Select 'Power off' to shut down the device completely.
Remove the Back Cover
Using a plastic opening tool, carefully pry off the back cover starting from the bottom edge. Work your way around the device to release all clips and set the cover aside.
Remove the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery. Carefully lift the battery using a spudger, taking care not to puncture it. Disconnect the battery connector and set the battery aside.
Detach the Screen Assembly
Use the heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Place a suction cup near the bottom of the screen and gently lift to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the screen to release the adhesive.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Once the screen is loose, gently tilt it to access the display cable. Use tweezers to carefully disconnect the cable from the motherboard. Set the old screen aside.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device and connect the display cable to the motherboard. Carefully position the screen in place. Ensure all cable connections are secure before proceeding.
Secure the Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the new screen. Press the screen firmly to ensure it is securely attached. Use the heat gun to lightly heat the edges and improve adhesion.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery and secure it with screws. Reattach the back cover by aligning and pressing it down until all clips snap into place.
Power On and Test the Device
Press and hold the power button to turn on the Moto G4 Plus. Test the new screen for touch sensitivity and display quality to ensure the repair was successful.
