Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Workspace
Ensure you have a clean, well-lit workspace. Lay out all tools and materials for easy access. Wear your anti-static wrist strap to prevent any electrostatic damage to the device.
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Turn off your Moto G40 Fusion completely. Use the SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the device.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive securing the screen. Be careful not to overheat the device, focusing on gentle, even heat.
Pry Open the Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen to lift it slightly. Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry open the screen. Work your way around the edges to loosen the adhesive, taking care not to damage the internal components.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is lifted, use a spudger to disconnect the display cable from the motherboard. Handle the connector gently to avoid damage.
Remove Old Adhesive
Use tweezers and isopropyl alcohol with a microfiber cloth to clean away any remaining adhesive from the phone frame. Ensure the surface is clean and free of residue to secure the new screen properly.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen to the motherboard by attaching the display cable. Align the new screen with the phone frame and gently press it into place. Ensure it sits flush against the frame.
Secure the Screen
Apply new adhesive strips or pre-cut adhesive around the edges of the screen. Press down firmly to secure the screen, ensuring there are no gaps.
Reassemble and Test the Device
Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device. Test the new screen for responsiveness and check for any issues. If the screen functions correctly, your repair is complete.
