Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button and select 'Power Off' to ensure that the device is completely turned off before starting the repair process.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM card ejection tool or a straightened paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device. Set aside in a safe place.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover to loosen the adhesive. Move the heat source in a circular motion to avoid overheating any one spot.
Pry Open the Back Cover
Using a suction cup, gently lift the back cover, creating a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and work around the perimeter to release the adhesive. Carefully lift the back cover off the device.
Disconnect the Battery Connector
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect it, ensuring not to damage the surrounding components.
Remove the Old Battery
Using a plastic opening tool, gently pry up the battery from the adhesive holding it in place. Take care not to bend or puncture the battery. If necessary, apply a bit of heat to soften the adhesive.
Install the New Battery
Position the new battery in the battery compartment, aligning it properly. Press it down gently to adhere it to the adhesive strips.
Reconnect the Battery Connector
Use the spudger to reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard, ensuring it clicks into place securely.
Reattach the Back Cover
Carefully align the back cover with the device and press it down firmly to reattach it. Apply slight pressure around the edges to ensure the adhesive binds properly.
Insert the SIM Card Tray and Power On
Reinsert the SIM card tray into the device. Then, power on the device by pressing the power button to ensure it functions correctly with the new battery.
