Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button until the power menu appears. Tap on 'Power Off' and wait for the device to completely shut down to ensure safety during the repair.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Using the SIM eject tool, remove the SIM card tray from the device to prevent any interference during the screen replacement.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a hair dryer or heat gun on a low setting to gently heat the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive holding the screen in place. Do not overheat as it can damage the internal components.
Lift the Screen
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to loosen the adhesive.
Disconnect the Screen Cable
Once the screen is free, lift it gently and use a spudger to disconnect the screen connector from the motherboard. Be careful not to damage the connector.
Remove the Old Screen
Completely remove the old screen from the device. If any adhesive remains on the frame, clean it with a microfiber cloth to ensure a smooth surface for the new screen.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen to the motherboard using the connector. Ensure it is securely attached. Lay the screen flat onto the frame and press gently to adhere.
Secure the Screen
Use adhesive strips or double-sided adhesive tape around the edges of the new screen to secure it in place. Press firmly to ensure good adhesion.
Reassemble the Device
Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device to test the new screen. Ensure all functions work properly, including touch sensitivity and display clarity.
Final Check and Cleanup
Inspect the device to ensure it is reassembled correctly and clean any fingerprints or smudges from the screen. Gather and dispose of old parts and materials safely.
