Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure your Moto G50 is completely powered off by holding the power button and selecting 'Power off'. This reduces the risk of electric shock and prevents data loss.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry open the back cover of the phone. Start from the bottom corner and work your way around to unclip the cover without damaging the clips.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully lift the cover and disconnect the battery connector using a spudger.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Be cautious not to overheat the device.
Remove the Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen and gently pull to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slide it around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Carefully lift the screen away from the frame.
Disconnect the Screen Connectors
Locate and disconnect the screen's ribbon cables using tweezers. Note their placement to ensure correct reinstallation.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's ribbon cables in the same position as the old one. Align the new screen with the frame and press it firmly into place. Secure it with adhesive strips or double-sided tape.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery and replace the connector cover. Secure it with screws. Snap the back cover back onto the device, ensuring it clicks into place all around the edges.
Power On and Test
Power on your Moto G50 to test the new screen. Ensure the display functions correctly and is responsive to touch.
