Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure your Moto G53 is completely powered off. Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' from the menu. Wait until the screen goes black and all lights are off.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover for 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive. Carefully use a suction cup to lift the back cover and insert a plastic opening tool to pry it open. Work your way around the edges until the cover is fully detached.
Disconnect the Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Use tweezers to carefully lift the shield off. Then, use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Old Battery
Gently pry the old battery away from the device using a plastic opening tool. Be cautious not to bend or puncture the battery. If it is difficult to remove, apply a little more heat to loosen the adhesive.
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery into the battery compartment, ensuring it is aligned properly. Press it down gently to secure it in place. If necessary, apply new adhesive strips to hold the battery securely.
Reconnect the Battery Connector
Reattach the battery connector to the motherboard using the spudger. Once connected, replace the connector shield and secure it with the screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the phone and press down firmly around the edges to ensure it snaps into place. If necessary, apply heat to help the adhesive bond.
Power On the Device
Press and hold the power button until the Motorola logo appears. Verify the new battery is functioning correctly by checking the battery level and ensuring the device charges properly.
