Motorola G6 Play - Screen Replacement
Tools Required
- Phillips #00 screwdriver
- Plastic opening tools
- Spudger
- Tweezers
- Hairdryer or heat gun

Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power off option appears on the screen. Tap it to completely shut down the device.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges of the back cover. Carefully lift the cover off to expose the internal components.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Lift the cover and use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Detach the Old Screen
Use a hairdryer or heat gun to apply heat around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Attach a suction cup to the screen, and gently pull while prying with a plastic opening tool to lift the screen away from the frame.
Remove Screen Connectors
Carefully use tweezers to disconnect the screen connectors from the motherboard. Note the orientation for reconnection.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the screen connectors to the motherboard. Ensure they are securely attached.
Secure the New Screen
Use adhesive strips or double-sided adhesive tape to secure the new screen to the frame. Make sure the screen is aligned properly and press it firmly into place.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Replace and secure the connector cover with the screws.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the device and press down firmly until it clicks into place along all edges. Ensure there are no gaps.
Power On the Device
Press and hold the power button to turn on the device. Test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly.
