Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Tray
Begin by powering off your Moto G7 Plus completely. Once the device is off, use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover. This will soften the adhesive holding it in place. Maintain a safe distance to avoid overheating and damaging the cover.
Remove the Back Cover
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover to lift it slightly. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the edges to release the adhesive. Be patient to avoid cracking the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery to ensure there's no power running through the device while you work.
Remove the Display Assembly
Unscrew the screws securing the midframe and gently remove it to access the display connector. Use a spudger to disconnect the display cable and carefully lift the broken display assembly away from the phone.
Install the New Display
Place the new display assembly onto the device. Reconnect the display cable to the motherboard and ensure it is secure. Test the new display by temporarily connecting the battery and powering on the device.
Reassemble the Phone
Once you confirm the new display works, power off the device again. Reattach the midframe and secure it with screws. Reconnect the battery connector and ensure all components are properly seated.
Seal the Back Cover
Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the back cover. Press the cover firmly onto the phone, ensuring it adheres well. Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen and back cover.
