Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure your Motorola Moto G7 Power is completely powered off to prevent any electrical mishaps during the repair process.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. This will prevent any damage to the tray during the screen replacement.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply gentle heat around the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Pry Open the Screen
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to separate the screen from the frame. Take care not to insert the tool too deeply to avoid damaging internal components.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it to access the connector. Use a spudger to disconnect the screen cable from the motherboard. Remove the old screen completely from the device.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device and connect the screen cable to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure.
Secure the New Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the frame. Carefully place the new screen onto the device, ensuring it is aligned correctly and press down firmly to secure it in place.
Reassemble the Phone
Reinsert the SIM card tray into the phone. Ensure everything is aligned and secure.
Power On and Test
Power on your device and check that the new screen is functioning correctly. Test the touch functionality and display quality to ensure the repair was successful.
