Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before starting the repair, ensure your Motorola Moto G7 Supra is completely powered off. Hold down the power button and confirm shutdown to avoid any accidental electrical damage.
Heat the Back Cover
Use an iOpener or a heat gun to gently apply heat around the edges of the back cover. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove. Be cautious not to overheat the device.
Remove the Back Cover
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover and gently pull to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to release the adhesive. Lift the back cover off.
Disconnect the Battery
Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully lift the cover and use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. This ensures no power is flowing through the device during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the front screen to soften the adhesive. Use the suction cup to gently lift the screen while inserting a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Carefully disconnect the display cable to fully remove the old screen.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and gently connect the display cable. Make sure it is securely attached. Remove any protective films from the new screen.
Secure the Screen
Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure the new screen to the frame. Ensure the screen is aligned properly before pressing it firmly into place.
Reconnect the Battery and Replace the Back Cover
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard and secure the connector cover with screws. Carefully align and press the back cover into place, ensuring it adheres properly.
