Follow these 6 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Tray
Ensure the Motorola Moto G7 is completely powered off. Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM tray from the device. This will prevent any damage to the SIM card during the repair process.
Heat and Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the back cover to loosen the adhesive. Gently use a suction cup and plastic opening tool to lift the back cover, then slide a prying pick around the edges to fully remove it.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector to ensure there's no power running through the device during the repair.
Remove the Display Assembly
Unscrew the screws securing the display connector shield using a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Remove the shield and use a spudger to disconnect the display connector. Use a heat gun to loosen the adhesive around the edges of the screen, then carefully pry the screen away from the frame using a suction cup and prying pick.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the display connector. Ensure it is securely attached before proceeding. Use new adhesive strips to secure the screen to the frame, ensuring it fits properly and evenly.
Reassemble the Device
Reattach the display connector shield and screw it back in place. Reconnect the battery connector. Carefully align and press the back cover onto the device, applying even pressure to ensure the adhesive holds it securely in place.
