Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power-off menu appears. Select 'Power off' to turn off the phone completely. Wait for a few seconds to ensure it is fully powered down.
Remove SIM Card Tray
Use the SIM card ejector tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device. Set it aside in a safe place.
Heat the Edges
Using a heat gun or hair dryer, gently heat the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Keep the heat source moving to avoid overheating any area.
Pry Open the Screen
Place a suction cup near the bottom of the screen and pull gently to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slowly work your way around the edges to release the adhesive.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the screen is free, carefully open it like a book to access the internals. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector to prevent any electrical short circuits.
Remove the Old Screen
Locate and remove the screws securing the screen connector shield with a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Use tweezers to remove the shield, then disconnect the screen cable using the spudger. Remove the old screen completely.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's cable to the mainboard. Secure it with the connector shield and screws. Align the new screen carefully and press it into place, ensuring a snug fit.
Reattach the Battery and Close the Device
Reconnect the battery connector. Carefully press the screen back into the device, ensuring the adhesive secures it. If necessary, apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape.
Reinsert SIM Card Tray
Reinsert the SIM card tray into the device.
Power On and Test
Power on the device and test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly, including touch response and display quality.
