Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then tap 'Power Off' on the screen to turn off the device. Wait a few seconds to ensure it is completely shut down.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover. Carefully insert a plastic opening tool into the seam to pry open the back cover. Work your way around the phone until the cover is completely detached.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any power flow.
Remove the Old Screen
Heat the edges of the screen with a heat gun or hair dryer. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to separate the adhesive. Carefully detach the screen, ensuring you disconnect the display ribbon cable without damaging it.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device, reconnect the display ribbon cable, and ensure it is secure. Apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the frame and carefully press the new screen into place.
Reconnect the Battery and Close the Device
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Replace and secure the battery connector cover with screws. Snap the back cover into place, ensuring it is securely attached all around.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for responsiveness and functionality. Ensure all areas of the screen respond to touch and that the display is clear.
