Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Begin by completely powering off your Motorola Moto G84. Hold the power button until the power menu appears, then select 'Power off'. Wait until the device is fully powered down.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges of the back cover to release the clips. Carefully lift the back cover off and set it aside.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Use a plastic spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. This step is crucial to prevent any power surge during the repair.
Heat the Display
Using a heat gun or hairdryer, apply gentle heat around the edges of the screen to loosen the adhesive. Do not overheat the device; use short bursts of heat.
Remove the Screen
Attach a suction cup near the top edge of the screen and gently lift to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slowly work your way around the screen to release the adhesive. Once loosened, carefully lift the screen away from the frame.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Locate the display cable connector and gently disconnect it using a plastic spudger or tweezers. Remove the old screen completely.
Install the New Screen
Attach the new screen's display cable to the motherboard connector. Align the new screen with the frame and press down gently to adhere it using new adhesive strips.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard and secure it with the screws that were removed earlier. Ensure the connection is firm.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the device and press down around the edges to snap it back into place. Ensure all clips are secured.
Test the New Screen
Power on your Motorola Moto G84 and test the new screen for responsiveness and proper display. Ensure all functions are working correctly before concluding the repair.
