Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button and select 'Power Off' from the menu. Wait for the device to completely shut down before proceeding.
Remove the SIM Card and Tray
Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the small hole on the SIM card tray. Gently push until the tray pops out, then remove it and set it aside.
Heat the Screen Edges
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply gentle heat around the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Do not overheat.
Pry Open the Screen
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen. Gently lift the screen with the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Work your way around the edges, being careful not to damage the display cables.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully lift the shield and disconnect the battery connector with a spudger to prevent any power flow.
Remove the Old Screen
Locate and gently disconnect the display cable using tweezers or a spudger. Once disconnected, completely remove the old screen from the device.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's display cable to the appropriate socket on the motherboard. Ensure it is securely attached. Align the screen with the frame and press it into place.
Secure the New Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the new screen. Secure it firmly to the frame, ensuring no gaps are present.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Replace the battery connector shield and secure it with the screws removed earlier.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for full functionality. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity. Once confirmed, reinsert the SIM card tray.
