Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Begin by powering off your Moto G9 Play completely. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device to prevent any damage during the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently apply heat around the edges of the back cover to loosen the adhesive. Employ a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the back cover open. Take your time to prevent cracking or damaging the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to gently disconnect it from the motherboard. This will ensure that no power is running through the device during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the screen assembly. Apply gentle heat to the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive, then use a suction handle to lift the screen slightly. Insert a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the phone's frame. Carefully connect any necessary cables and ensure they are securely fastened. Press the screen into place, ensuring it aligns properly with the device's body.
Reattach the Back Cover
Apply new adhesive strips or screen adhesive around the edges of the back cover. Press the cover firmly into place, ensuring it adheres securely to the phone.
Reinsert SIM Card and Power On
Insert the SIM card tray back into the phone. Power on your Moto G9 Play to test the new screen and ensure it functions correctly.
