Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Begin by powering off your Motorola Moto G9 Power completely. Once the device is off, use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Set the SIM card and tray aside in a safe place.
Remove Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry off the back cover of the phone. Start at one corner and work your way around the edges, applying gentle pressure until the cover is completely detached. Be careful not to use excessive force to avoid cracking the cover.
Disconnect Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully lift the cover with a spudger and disconnect the battery connector to avoid any electrical shorts during the repair.
Heat and Remove Front Screen
Gently heat the edges of the front screen with a heat gun or hairdryer to soften the adhesive holding it in place. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, then insert a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Carefully work your way around the edges to fully detach the screen.
Disconnect and Remove Screen
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it and disconnect the ribbon cable connecting it to the motherboard. Use tweezers to release any clips securing the cable. Remove the old screen completely and set it aside.
Install New Screen
Position the replacement screen over the phone and carefully connect the ribbon cable to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure and that any clips are reattached. Align the screen properly with the frame.
Secure Screen and Reassemble Device
Apply the adhesive strips or double-sided adhesive tape around the edges of the new screen. Press the screen firmly into place, ensuring it adheres well to the frame. Reconnect the battery and replace the battery connector cover, securing it with screws.
Reattach Back Cover and Power On
Carefully align the back cover with the phone and press it into place until it clicks securely. Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly.
