Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Power off your Motorola Moto G9 completely. Use the SIM card ejector tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone.
Apply Heat to Soften Adhesive
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Move the heat source in a circular motion to avoid overheating any area.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a suction cup near the edge of the back cover to gently pull up, creating a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the edges to release the clips and adhesive. Remove the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery from the motherboard, ensuring no power flows through the device during the repair.
Remove the Display Assembly
Unscrew the screws holding the display assembly, then use a spudger to disconnect the display connector. Carefully lift and remove the display assembly from the body of the phone.
Install the New Display
Align the new display with the frame. Connect the display connector to the motherboard, ensuring a secure fit. Use screws to fasten the new display assembly in place.
Reconnect the Battery
Reattach the battery connector to the motherboard, ensuring a snug connection. Replace the battery connector cover and secure it with screws.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the frame of the phone. Press down firmly around the edges to secure the clips and adhesive. Optionally, apply pressure evenly to ensure a tight seal.
Reinsert SIM Card and Test
Insert the SIM card tray back into its slot. Power on the device and test the new display for functionality, ensuring touch and visual quality are restored.
