Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Begin by powering off your Motorola Moto G 5G 2022. Use the SIM ejection tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This prevents any damage to the SIM card during the repair process.
Remove the Back Cover
Using a plastic opening tool, carefully pry around the edges of the back cover to release the clips. Start from one corner and work your way around until the back cover is fully detached. Be gentle to avoid damaging the plastic clips.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a plastic spudger to gently pry up and disconnect the battery from the motherboard. This step is crucial to ensure no power is running through the device during the repair.
Unfasten and Remove the Screws
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the midframe. Carefully keep track of all screws to ensure they are returned to their original positions during reassembly.
Detach the Old Screen
Warm the edges of the screen using a heat gun or hairdryer for about 1-2 minutes to loosen the adhesive. Place a suction cup on the screen and gently pull up to create a gap. Insert a plastic card or spudger into the gap and slide it around the edges to cut through the adhesive. Carefully detach the screen from the body.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device frame. Remove any protective films from the adhesive strips and press the new screen into place, ensuring a secure fit. Reconnect the display flex cables to the motherboard.
Reassemble the Device
Carefully reattach the midframe and secure the screws that were removed earlier. Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Ensure all connections are secure before proceeding.
Replace the Back Cover and SIM Card
Align the back cover with the device and press down firmly around the edges to snap it back into place. Reinsert the SIM card tray and ensure it is properly seated.
Power On and Test
Power on the device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly. Test the touch functionality and check for display clarity to confirm a successful replacement.
