Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Ensure the phone is completely powered off. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device to prevent any damage during the repair.
Heat and Remove Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Carefully insert a plastic opening tool into the seam and gently pry the back cover off. Be patient to avoid cracking the cover.
Disconnect Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to carefully disconnect it from the motherboard. This step is crucial to prevent short-circuiting while you replace the screen.
Remove Screws and Midframe
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all screws securing the midframe. Use a spudger to gently lift and remove the midframe, exposing the internal components.
Disconnect Display Connectors
Carefully disconnect the display connectors using a spudger or tweezers. These connectors link the screen to the motherboard and need to be removed to replace the screen.
Remove Old Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to gently lift the screen away from the device frame. Use a plastic opening tool to assist in removing the screen completely.
Install New Screen
Carefully align and connect the new screen to the motherboard using the connectors. Ensure a secure fit and that all connections are properly seated.
Reassemble Device
Reattach the midframe and secure it with screws. Reconnect the battery connector. Carefully align and attach the back cover using new adhesive if necessary. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
Power On and Test
Power on the device to test the new screen. Check for responsiveness and proper display function. Ensure the screen is secure and functioning as expected.
