Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Begin by powering off your Motorola Moto G 5G 2024. Once off, use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device.
Heat and Remove Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Carefully use a plastic opening tool to pry open the back cover, starting from one corner and slowly working around the edges until it is completely detached.
Disconnect Battery
With the back cover removed, locate the battery connector. Use a spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard to disconnect it.
Remove Midframe
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all screws securing the midframe. Carefully lift the midframe away from the device using a plastic opening tool.
Detach the Old Screen
Gently heat the edges of the screen using a heat gun or hair dryer. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, then insert a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious not to damage the display cables.
Install Replacement Screen
Carefully align and attach the new screen to the device. Ensure all connectors are properly attached before securing the screen. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure the new screen in place.
Reassemble the Device
Reattach the midframe by securing it with screws, reconnect the battery, and then snap the back cover into place. Ensure all parts are properly aligned and secure.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device to ensure the new screen functions correctly. Test touch functionality and display quality. Reinsert the SIM card tray to complete the process.
