Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Workspace
Find a clean, well-lit workspace. Gather all required tools and materials listed above. Make sure your phone is powered off before beginning.
Remove the Back Cover
Use the plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover of the phone. Start from the bottom edge and work your way around. Set the cover aside.
Disconnect the Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully lift off the shield and use a plastic spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Heat and Remove the Screen
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to evenly heat the edges of the front screen for about 1-2 minutes. This will soften the adhesive. Apply a suction cup near the bottom edge and gently lift while using the plastic spudger to separate the screen from the frame.
Detach the Display Cable
Once the screen is loosened, carefully lift it to reveal the display cable connector. Use tweezers to gently release the connector and completely remove the screen.
Install the New Screen
Attach the new screen's display cable to the connector on the motherboard. Ensure it is securely connected before proceeding.
Secure the New Screen
Align the new screen with the phone frame. Apply adhesive strips around the edges and press the screen firmly into place. Ensure no gaps are left between the screen and the frame.
Reconnect the Battery and Close the Phone
Reconnect the battery connector and reattach the connector shield with screws. Snap the back cover into place, ensuring all edges are properly aligned.
Test the New Screen
Power on the phone and test the new screen for proper functionality. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity.
