Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power off option appears. Tap to power off the device completely to ensure safety during the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Using a plastic opening tool, gently pry around the edges of the back cover to release the clips. Carefully remove the back cover and set it aside.
Detach the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Midframe Assembly
With the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the midframe. Use a spudger to carefully separate the midframe from the device, revealing the internal components.
Apply Heat to Loosen the Adhesive
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen for 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive. Be cautious not to overheat.
Remove the Damaged Screen
Place a suction cup on the screen and gently pull to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and work around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Carefully lift the screen away from the frame.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Locate the display cable connector on the motherboard. Gently lift the lock with a spudger and unplug the display cable to remove the screen completely.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen by attaching the display cable to the motherboard. Ensure it is securely in place and lock the connector.
Secure the New Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the frame. Align the new screen with the frame and press down firmly to secure it in place.
Reassemble the Device
Reattach the midframe and secure it with screws. Reconnect the battery and replace the battery connector cover. Snap the back cover onto the device. Power on the phone to test the new screen.
