Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Begin by powering off your Motorola Moto G Play 2021 completely. Use a SIM card ejector tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray and set it aside.
Heat the Screen
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will loosen the adhesive holding the screen in place. Be careful not to overheat the device, keeping the heat source moving constantly.
Detach the Screen
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently pull to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the perimeter to detach the screen. Be patient and avoid applying excessive force.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is detached, lift it slightly to reveal the connectors. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the screen's flex cables from the motherboard. Set the old screen aside.
Prepare the New Screen
Remove any protective films from the new screen. Clean the edges of the device using a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol to ensure proper adhesion.
Connect the New Screen
Carefully align and connect the new screen's flex cables to the motherboard. Ensure the connections are secure before proceeding.
Secure the New Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape to the edges of the device. Gently align and press the new screen into place. Ensure it is seated properly without any gaps.
Reassemble and Test
Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device. Test the new screen for responsiveness and check for any display issues. If the screen functions correctly, the repair is successful.
