Power Off the Device
Hold down the power button and select 'Power Off' to completely shut down the device. This ensures your safety and prevents any short-circuiting during the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges of the back cover, starting from a corner. Slowly work your way around until the cover is fully detached from the phone.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to carefully lift and disconnect it. This step is crucial to avoid electrical discharge during the repair.
Unscrew and Remove the Midframe
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all screws securing the midframe. Carefully lift the midframe away from the phone, ensuring no cables are damaged in the process.
Detach the Display Cable
Locate the display connector and gently use a spudger to disconnect it from the motherboard. Handle the cable carefully to avoid tearing.
Heat and Remove the Display
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, then insert a plastic opening tool and gently pry the screen away from the frame.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the phone's frame. Connect the display cable to the motherboard. Ensure the screen is seated properly before securing it with adhesive strips or tape.
Reassemble the Device
Reattach the midframe and secure it with screws. Reconnect the battery, ensuring it's properly seated. Reattach the back cover, pressing firmly around the edges to secure it.
Power On and Test
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality, including touch response and display clarity. Ensure all features are working as expected.
