Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Start by powering off your Motorola Moto G Play 2024 completely. Use a SIM card removal tool to eject the SIM card tray and remove it from the device.
Remove Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry open the back cover. Start at one corner and work your way around until the cover is completely detached. Be gentle to avoid damaging the plastic clips.
Detach Battery Connector
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard and carefully disconnect it using the prying pick. This step is crucial to ensure no power runs through the device during the repair.
Heat and Remove Display Assembly
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the display for about 1-2 minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the screen. Apply a suction cup near the top edge and gently lift while using a prying pick to separate the screen from the frame.
Disconnect Display Cable
Once the screen is lifted slightly, locate and disconnect the display cable connector using the tweezers. This will completely detach the old screen from the phone.
Install New Screen
Connect the new display screen's cable to the motherboard. Carefully align the new screen onto the frame, ensuring all edges fit snugly. Secure it with new adhesive strips or double-sided tape.
Reattach Battery and Back Cover
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Align and press the back cover back onto the phone until all clips are secured.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen's functionality. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity. Ensure everything is working as expected.
