Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure the phone is completely powered off. Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears, then select 'Power Off.' Wait for the device to shut down completely.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM card eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray. Insert the tool into the small hole next to the SIM tray and gently press to eject the tray.
Heat the Back Cover
Using a heat gun or hairdryer, apply heat evenly around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Be cautious not to overheat or melt the plastic.
Pry Open the Back Cover
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover. Gently pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work around the edges to separate the back cover from the phone. Be gentle to avoid damaging the clips and adhesive.
Remove the Screws
Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the midframe that covers the battery. Keep the screws organized as you will need them for reassembly.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a spudger or tweezers, carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. Be gentle to avoid damaging the connector or surrounding components.
Remove the Battery
Gently pry the battery out using a spudger. If the battery is difficult to remove, apply a little more heat to soften the adhesive. Be cautious not to puncture or bend the battery.
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery into the battery compartment, ensuring it is properly aligned. Press down gently to secure it with the adhesive strips.
Reassemble the Phone
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Replace the midframe and secure it with the screws. Carefully press the back cover into place, ensuring it snaps back securely.
Power On and Test
Reinsert the SIM card tray and power on the device by holding the power button. Ensure the phone starts up correctly and verifies that the new battery is charging and functioning properly.
