Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your Moto G Power 5G 2023 until the power menu appears, then select 'Power Off'. Wait for the device to completely shut down.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM eject tool or a paperclip into the small hole next to the SIM card tray. Press gently until the tray pops out, then remove it from the device.
Heat the Screen Edges
Use a heat gun or hairdryer on a low setting to gently heat the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Move the heat source in a circular motion to avoid overheating any area.
Pry Open the Screen
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slide it around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Be careful not to insert the tool too deeply to avoid damaging internal components.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the screen is partially lifted, use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. This ensures there is no power running through the device, reducing the risk of short circuits.
Disconnect the Screen
Locate the display connector and use a spudger to gently lift and disconnect it from the motherboard. Be cautious to avoid damaging the connector or surrounding components.
Remove the Old Screen
Fully remove the old screen from the device. If there are any remaining adhesive residues, clean them off with a microfiber cloth and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol.
Install the New Screen
Position the new screen and connect its display connector to the motherboard. Ensure it is firmly in place. Align the screen with the frame of the phone.
Secure the Screen
Apply the adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the frame. Carefully press the new screen into place, ensuring it is aligned properly. Apply gentle pressure to secure the adhesive.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector. Replace the SIM card tray. Power on the device to test the new screen’s functionality. Ensure all components are working properly before using the device normally.
